GARY AND SPIKE: A DOLOMITIC STORY

Fulber

The publishing project that we present here is a preview of the new comic book adventure entitled “Gary, Spike and the Dolomite Treasure”. This comic book comes from Fulber’s pencil in the wake of UNESCO’s recognition of the Dolomites as a World Heritage Site.
Champion of the environment, our friendly hero Gary, could not let this opportunity slip! Here, he is together with the nasty Spike, catapulted in the Enchanted Mountains. These mountains are the backdrop for a story that develops between history and mythology.

THE WARNING OF DOLOMITLAND

This time the violent Spike almost unexpectedly intensifies his desires for conquest. His speculation, Dolomitaland, makes the guardians of the environment tremble at the knees. Spike’s crazy idea is to create a mega-resort for tourists with all the amenities in place of the green pastures of the Dolomites. It is a frightening and extensive agglomeration served by a network of paved and elevated roads that would spoil these enchanting places. The controversy that breaks out between Gary and Spike is fierce and merciless, as is only right for those who fought to defend and protect this corner of paradise. The intention of the insane opportunist Spike will find new and unexpected champions lined up to battle against him; the Dwarf people and its legendary leader and Lord, King Laurino. Laurino is the main character of one of the many folk legends of the Pale Mountains.
However, the little King knows that war does not lead to anything good. Together with Gary, he uses magic and knowledge of things to convince little Spike to refrain from moving even one stone from the place where Mother Nature has placed them.

THE RETURN OF DOLOMIEU
The famous French geologist, Déodat de Dolomieu, has a vital role in the story. He emerges from the mists of time to help the Lord of the Dwarfs and does so in the most appropriate way. He reveals another stunning magic spell to the increasingly amazed Spike; the genesis of the Dolomite mountains over millions of years.
There is one more thing to do in order to complete the spell; recite the poem of the hill country and the mountain life during the spectacular Alpenglow. A miracle that all of us can see from here at dusk.
