Mitomacchina: this is an appropriate title indeed. Whoever forged
it has blended two specific terms of significant relevance,
into a clear and effective word that anybody, experts and enthusiasts,
can understand.
Today what the market requires all over the world is a right
sythesis between beauty and functional quality, style and effectiveness.
This is the main goal for the designer.
To sum it up, I believe a designer is asked to:

give an object beauty and esthetic personality,
an ideal which men have always aimed at;

make life quality standards better, producing
useful objects;
-
become make of economical development, since
the design of an object determines its commercial success.
Having said so, a good design-style has also a cultural function:
it helps making us aware of the mistakes made right in the more
industrialized nations, where cultural and ecological values
have been sacrified to development.
Reading these experiences in a different light, can lead least
developed countries to modernize their societies, within a more
sustainable kind of development.
