                |     | A NEW AND ORIGINAL CAMPAIGN AGAINST DRINK DRIVING |
                | |   Fulber Creazioni of Trento has grabbed the bull by its horns, so to speak, in tackling the problem of alcohol and driving from a "head-on" point of view.  In association with the Trentino Federation of Fire Brigade Volunteers, who promoted their last publication, Fulber Creazioni firmly believes that the prevention of road accidents caused by drink driving cannot be discussed enough.  Having noted that, to date, Death has never featured in an educational comic, in the guise of the story's main character and in an explicit and on-going manner, the author decided to make it a symbol against Saturday night carnage in a campaign to raise awareness about alcohol and driving.   By featuring Death in his most classic iconography, he is hoping for several results: a stronger impact on young readers (and not only them), a dark feel to the cartoon, and greater credibility based on the real and tragic facts that confirm the devastation that often ensues on roads at weekends. There is nobody more appropriate, nobody who would know more about young broken souls and the end of earthly existence, than the Black Lady.

                | AN EXCEPTIONAL TESTIMONIAL The Black Lady, exasperated by all the road tragedies, appears one late summer’s night before the restless and drunk Spike and issues him with a clear warning, mercilessly bombarding him with figures and consequences relating to alcohol consumption and driving.  She extends the wake-up lesson to the dangers of drugs and amphetamines, because this is the harsh reality of many adolescents today. She delivers a clear message to young readers about the risks of irresponsible behaviour that is common in many adolescents.

Junior Fireman, the Fulber creation that will publish Horror Drinks, is part of the "Gary" comic series that is now in its fifth year and eighth edition.  It was officially recognised at the Contemporary and Modern Art Museum of Trento and Rovereto, with a special achievement in education at the 2008 Trentino Craftsman of the Year award. | |

                | | FICTION AND REALITY Horror Drinks is more than a cartoon on the problem of drink driving; the theme of death is present from start to finish.  Behind the make-believe, tragedy really can affect the main characters.   Take, for example, Peter: one of the partygoers who, tragically and stupidly, (it wasn’t the car he was travelling in that had consumed the alcohol), will perish in a terrible car accident caused by his friend, who was drunk.  We know all too well, unfortunately, that this happens in real life too. |
