TWO SPECIAL GUESTS
The 2009 edition of FA LA COSA GIUSTA (do the right thing), a fair about critical consumption and sustainable lifestyles, was held in Trento between the 23rd and 25th of October this year and starred, among others, our cartoon heroes Gary and Spike.
The organizers were keen to have the white dog explain and convey the spirit of this great and useful venture to children and adults alike.
The main director of Trentino Arcobaleno, Dario Pedrotti, and the Trento-based cartoonist Fulber are the creators of the colour cartoon published in the fair catalogue.
The cartoon aims to describe the concept behind Fa’ la cosa giusta! as well as liven up the catalogue and give something to reflect on during the rest of the year.

HOMO CRITICUS
Like many other Garyesque ventures, this was a brand new approach which the organizers of the Fa’ la cosa giusta fair in Milan praised as a clever, interesting and innovative idea.
Gary tells us the secret of how to adopt certain sustainable lifestyles and act as a real critical consumer.
The cartoon is also a great way to present other news, and communicate with and involve the reader. As a result the catalogue has now been dubbed a “Fumettalogo” (Cartoonologue).
The illustrated pages involve, in a special new cartoon format, the owners of several stands at the fair in an attempt to describe the evolution of various products in a fun and quirky manner.
In the case of organic farming, Farmer Giustino explains to a greedy and famished Spike the importance of consuming locally sourced products and the methods and benefits of crop rotation; the Samuele cooperative, instead, tells you how vegetable tanned leather is made; while at Biosipuò Gary proves to Spike the need to use natural detergent products and biodegradable fabrics that have no negative environmental impact.
